Mitú in the classroom with Tech Ed
Through our Tech Ed Partnerships program, mitú, a fast-growing digital media startup aimed at Latino millennials, spoke to media students at Venice High School, one of our LA HI-TECH partners, on Feb. 15. Three speakers discussed mitú’s work in the Latino community, careers in digital media and tech and how the company is changing the ways in which youth interact with digital content. Mehdi Ravandi, senior director of product management, shared how his love for computers led him to research user relationships with technology.

ITC.pngIT Council addresses City’s digital divide
During this month’s Innovation & Technology Council meeting Feb. 21 at the L.A. Area Chamber, Jeanne Holm, assistant general manager and deputy CIO, Information Technology Agency, City of Los Angeles, discussed how the City is using emerging technology to close the digital divide and modernize of the City's infrastructure, systems and policies. “We are really trying to make innovation the culture of government,” said Holm.


Our partner B~Stem Project launches “Hall of Fame Films” Competition
During Women’s History Month, B~Stem Project is championing the inclusion of women in media by calling all female content creators to make a short film highlighting a leading woman in technology and innovation across industries. Winners will earn the opportunity to pitch their ideas to leading industry executives at top companies. Submissions are open until Feb. 24.
