Bixel Exchange releases new IT Report at Tech Salon
On Tuesday, Bixel Exchange hosted Tech Salon: How To Get A Tech Job In Los Angeles with presenting sponsor California State University, Northridge (CSUN). As part of an innovative partnership with LinkedIn and the City of Los Angeles, Bixel Exchange released “Building L.A.’s Tech Talent Pipeline: A Sector Report on the Information Technology Industry” during the event. The report looks at the current industry skill sets, hiring trends and career pathways for L.A.’s tech workforce.

After a presentation of key findings with LinkedIn Head of U.S. Public Policy Nicole Isaac, leaders in L.A. tech and education, including the Center for a Competitive Workforce, Cornerstone OnDemand, Hyperloop One, GoGuardian, Boingo Wireless, City of Los Angeles' Education & Workforce Development Department and CSUN, convened to discuss how the public and private sectors can best bridge L.A.’s IT skills gap. On Nov. 14, Bixel Exchange’s Startup LAunch Program hosted a workshop to help budding startups understand their customers on a deeper level. Map & Fire Co-founders Clay Ostrom and John Sexton led the workshop focused on “Jobs to Be Done” and “Elements of Value,” and helped attendees apply those two important concepts to their own businesses.




Bixel Exchange joins LA HI-TECH for Career & Internship Symposium
On Nov. 8, Bixel Exchange and students from Birmingham High School, Taft High School and Pierce College met for LA HI-TECH’s Career & Internship Symposium. Students heard from tech professionals from Google, the Aerospace Corporation, Data 360, VentureFuel, NASA, mitú and more!
