Bixel Exchange launches summer internship program with the Chamber and HIRE LA’s Youth
Monday, the L.A. Area Chamber’s Center for Education Excellence & Talent Development and Bixel Exchange joined Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, other elected officials, business and community leaders and youth to celebrate the start of the HIRE LA's Youth summer internship program.

The mayor highlighted 2018's new and expanding programs that support the HIRE LA’s Youth initiative, including Bixel Exchange's L.A. Tech Talent Pipeline program. Director Lindsey Heisser shared the success of our 2017 summer internship program -- 100 underrepresented youth were placed in paid internships and 40 percent went on to receive employment from those tech companies. In partnership with Mayor Garcetti, Bixel Exchange has doubled its goal to 200 internship placements this summer. Daisy Zurita shared her experience as an intern last summer, as well as her excitement for her new internship with the City of L.A.'s data team!

“I am pursuing a career in technology, and it is programs like Bixel Exchange that have helped me bridge into that career,” said Zurita.
