There is a high demand for tech talent in Los Angeles. In this high-growth industry there is an average of 4,500 daily job openings and employers are struggling to find a diverse and local talent pool to fill them. This burgeoning industry presents an opportunity to think critically and strategically about ways to address impending workforce shortages with our local talent.
To address these workforce challenges, the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce has partnered with regional tech employers and workforce training providers to co-develop industry-informed competency models aligned to demand occupation clusters in tech: IT Support, Software Development and UX Design. These models are intended to inform training instruction as well as career preparation programming to facilitate greater career success of students and youth through the alignment of career technical education to industry demand for talent.
